“These writers mislead and manipulated under the guise of covering my fasting and wellness discoveries when their real motive was a deceitful hit piece,” Lindberg says.

Tampa, FL December 4th 2024 — Greg Lindberg has issued a strong rebuttal to the recent article published by Jackie Davalos and Sophie Alexander, accusing the journalists of gross misrepresentation, dishonest reporting, and a blatant disregard for the truth.

“This article is nothing more than a calculated hit piece, filled with lies, sensationalism, and deceit,” said Lindberg. “It’s deeply disappointing that these young, ambitious writers were willing to mislead and manipulate under the guise of covering my fasting and wellness discoveries, only to turn their pens toward manufacturing a false narrative about my life and family.”

Lindberg credits his 90-hour per week “Only Eat on Weekends” intermittent fasting program with giving him the energy to raise children in his mid-50s – and stand up to the lies, deceit, and manipulation from the mainstream media about his life.

“Over a 6-year period, from April of 2018 to July of 2024, my telomeres increased in length from 7.01 kb to 10.46 kb. This increase took my telomere length from that of an average 60 year-old to that of an average an 18 year-old,” Lindberg said, noting that he will turn 55 years old in July.

“What’s most extraordinary about this increase in telomere length is that this 6-year period was an extraordinarily stressful time for me: a divorce battle, indictments, numerous legal battles, deceptive hit pieces from mainstream news outlets, and 633 days in a federal prison. Despite this hellscape of stress, the Only Eat On Weekends™ program that I followed resulted in longer telomeres – and a younger and more healthy body,” Lindberg said.

Lindberg encourages others not to fear the critics. “You can do the same in your life. You can regain your youth and build a family in your 50s – regardless of the battles and stress that you may face,” Lindberg says.

Fabricating Fiction Under the Banner of Journalism

Davalos and Alexander positioned themselves as health and lifestyle writers to gain Lindberg’s trust, claiming they wanted to explore his groundbreaking fasting practices and commitment to wellness. Instead, they crafted a salacious story riddled with inaccuracies, painting a distorted and fictionalized picture of his personal life.

These journalists prioritized their personal ambitions over the ethics of true journalism, ignoring their responsibility to present all sides of the story. Employees at fertility clinics have reported feeling pressured by these reporters to provide statements that were untrue, further exposing the piece as an attempt to sensationalize rather than inform.

“Real journalists seek the truth and respect the people they cover. Diane Sawyer built her career on integrity and fairness. Unfortunately, these writers seem more interested in becoming the next social media diva, chasing clicks and attention at the expense of facts,” Lindberg added.

A Loving Father, Not a “Project”

At the heart of this attack is an effort to demean Lindberg’s family and his love for his children. The article’s repeated use of the phrase “baby project” is particularly offensive and dehumanizing. “This was never a ‘project.’ It’s simply the story of a man who values family above all else,” said Lindberg.

Willie Colon, who met Lindberg in federal prison, corroborates this sentiment: “Greg told me time and again that having a large family was his dream because he loves the joy and unity a big family brings. He’s dedicated to raising his children with love, respect, and strong values.”

Lindberg further noted, “These writers ignored the countless times I shared how much I love my children and how special family dinner is for us. It’s time to connect, laugh, and just be together. They didn’t report on the happiness, love, and support my children experience every day.”

The Truth About Egg Donation

Contrary to the article’s claims, no woman was ever pressured into donating eggs. Every donor participated willingly and with full understanding of the process.

“We went to great lengths to ensure every donor was fully informed and entirely comfortable with their decision,” Lindberg emphasized. “The suggestion that anyone was coerced is an outright lie, designed to create drama and advance the writers’ careers.”

Protecting the Privacy of Children

Most egregiously, the article targets Lindberg’s children, violating their right to privacy and dignity. Children should be shielded from public scrutiny, not dragged into misleading narratives for the sake of a “juicy” story.

“It’s disgraceful for any journalist to exploit innocent children for their personal gain. My children are my greatest blessings, and they deserve love, respect, and anonymity—not to be pawns in an attention-seeking smear campaign,” Lindberg said.

Closing Statement

“I am profoundly disappointed in Jackie Davalos and Sophie Alexander for their dishonesty and lack of integrity,” Lindberg concluded. “This isn’t journalism—it’s opportunism. The timing of this article, published while I am facing the challenges of incarceration, reveals the selfish motives behind it. Rather than reporting with fairness or accuracy, the writers have chosen to pile on during a difficult period in my life, aiming to harm rather than inform.

“This hit piece distorts the facts, misrepresents reality, and serves only to sensationalize my story at the expense of truth and humanity. While they chase their 15 minutes of fame, I remain focused on what matters most: my family and raising my children in a loving, supportive environment. My hope is that one day, they will choose truth over sensationalism, respect over recklessness, and integrity over ambition.”
